COOKIE POLICY · § 25 TDDDG · GDPR ART. 6(1)(b)
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by websites you visit. They allow the site to keep state between page loads — for example, to remember that a processing job is underway or that a payment has been authorised. Under § 25 TDDDG, cookies that access your device require either your consent or a necessity basis. All cookies described below fall under the necessity exemption (§ 25 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 TDDDG) because they are strictly required for the service you explicitly requested.
2. Cookies We Set
We set only essential operational cookies. No consent banner is required for these under § 25 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 TDDDG.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
session | ESSENTIAL | Maintains your session across page loads — required to track the state of a running processing job and to associate uploaded files with your request. | Session (deleted when browser closes) |
payment_state | ESSENTIAL | Stores the payment flow state temporarily so that the PayPal redirect can be matched back to your order and duplicate charges are prevented. | 30 minutes |
We do not set analytics, marketing, or preference cookies.
3. Third-Party Cookies (PayPal)
When you initiate a payment you are redirected to PayPal's platform. PayPal may set its own cookies on your device during this interaction. These cookies are outside our control and governed exclusively by PayPal's own policies:
THIRD-PARTY PayPal Privacy Policy: paypal.com/privacy
THIRD-PARTY PayPal Cookie Policy: paypal.com/cookies
Once you complete or cancel the payment you are returned to Vendobyte. PayPal cookies remain in your browser according to PayPal's own retention periods.
4. Consent & Your Control
Because we only set technically necessary cookies, we do not display a cookie consent banner for our own cookies. You can still control all cookies through your browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking or deleting our essential cookies will prevent the service from working correctly — for example, file uploads and payment flows require session state to function.
5. Legal Basis
Own cookies: § 25 Abs. 2 Nr. 2 TDDDG — strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested; no consent required. Secondary basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance).
PayPal cookies: Set by PayPal under their own legal basis when you visit their platform during payment.
